vArrayCreateRandom
Generate a seeded array of random values — the noise source for data-driven variation, scatter, and stochastic animation.

vArrayCreateRandom produces a vArray of pseudo-random numbers from a seed and length. Use it to drive displacement magnitudes, colour offsets, scale variation, or any parameter that needs reproducible randomness.
Parameters
| Parameter | Type | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| Array length | Integer | 2 | Number of random values to generate. Must match the length of the array you intend to drive — typically equal to the point count of your generator. |
| Seed | Integer | 0 | Seed for the random number generator. Different seeds produce different sequences. Animating this value creates evolving randomness. |
| Pack To | Integer | 0 | Output packing mode: 0 = flat 1D array of scalar values, 1 = packed as XY pairs, 2 = packed as XYZ triplets for 3D use. |
| Show Input | Checkbox | 0 | Reveals optional input ports on the node in the Fusion node graph. |

vArrayCreateRandom generates a flat array of pseudo-random values using a seed-based algorithm. Because the output is deterministic for any given seed, you get the same random layout every time — critical for production workflows where renders must be reproducible across machines and sessions.
Array length sets how many values to generate (minimum 2). Seed controls which random sequence is produced — increment it to explore different variations while keeping all other parameters fixed. Pack To determines whether values are packed as a flat 1D stream or grouped as XYZ triplets for 3D displacement use.
Connect the output to vArrayMath to scale the range, then to vArrayDisplaceValues to add per-point noise to a structured grid or sphere. Alternatively drive it directly into vArrayShapeRender's scale or colour input for stochastic size and hue variation across a point cloud. Animating the Seed parameter over time produces a flickering randomness effect.
